Pres. Paul Danik called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Al Born read the minutes of the Dec. 2011 meeting and James Borer made a motion to accept the minutes as read and with the motion seconded by Ollie Martin, the motion was approved. Dale Fisher gave the Membership report that showed two new members, those being David Clark from N. Carolina and John Nielsen from Pa. There were 17 renewals, 11 for 1 year, 4 for 2 years, 1 for 3 years and 1 for 5 years, leaving a total of 422 active members. Dale noted that during 2011, we had 48 new members, but, 44 did not renew their membership. It was noted that Jeff Borer is still checking our mail box here in Amherst. Alan Buehner gave the Treasurers report as of 12/31/11. Alan stated that the Newsletters had been mailed recently and that they had a nice article about the Penton Flat-tracker. Bill Smith was working overtime and was not in attendance to give a web-site report.

We discussed the up-coming Motorcycle Show at the Cleveland IX Center on Jan. 27th thru 29th. Al and Ollie Martin will be taking our trailer with our POG display items as well as some motorcycles. Alan Buehner will be bringing his Penton Short-tracker as well as several others who own Pentons. Paul stated that we will set up our display beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and that entrance to the Center will be like last year.

For Field Trips, Chicago Jerry stated that he will soon be going to Belize for doing 4 days of voluntary plumbing/pipe-fitting work for an under-privileged school there.

Under old business, Alan stated that he was holding the $320.00 that was raised by the auction we held at the Dec. meeting. Alan Buehner made a motion that we add $180.00 so this would equal $500.00 and donate it to the ALs Assn. (Lou Gehrig’s disease). All were in favor of the motion and this has been taken care of. We also discussed how the POG has donated $500.00 a year to the AMA Museum, for several years now, so Alan Buehner made a motion that was seconded by James Borer to donate $500.00 this year in memory of Dane Leimbach. The motion was approved and a check was given to Jack Penton to present to the Museum. The POG had received a nice letter of “Thanks” from Dave Lamberth, Exec. Director of AHRMA for the POG again sponsoring the AHRMA National Cross Country Series for 2012. The fee for this sponsorship is $1500.00 per year and the consensus is that this support does a lot to further Vintage Racing and that the POG gets good recognition for doing this.

Under new business, Paul mentioned that Paul Clipper now has a radio program on Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and that there is info on our web-site on how to hear it. Paul also reminded everyone of the Will Stoner Swap Meet that will be held at the Medina County Fairgrounds on Sat. Feb. 18th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
