Is there a list anywhere of the riders (with number) for the 1973 ISDT?
Well, I am sure there is somewhere...... There is an area of blue paint on the tank of my Penton 125, with a number scratched into it. It is two hundred and ? Thanks. Hal in CT

After riding in the '03 ISDTRR in Dalton, and witnessing Dave Mungenast ride the very same bike he rode in 1973, I am in awe of the silver medal that was earned by he and John Greenrose that year, and by Dave riding the very same bike again in 2003. We sure do miss him.

Unless that tank is BLUE then that is probably a bike used in the ISDT Qualifiers somewhere between 1972 and 74.

There are potentially two lists. One would be for the rider/machine and would also be on the number on the plates/bib. The second (which would be the one I'm looking for) is the list of inspection numbers which also corresponds to the rider/machine. Dalton was the first year a sticker was used on specific areas.

In this case inspection #183 - Still hoping to determine what rider/bike the hub came from.....

Parts filtered out in some cases. Does your machine have a center stand?

Hal,
It is my understanding that the inspection/scrutineering numbers only matched actual rider numbers by pure coincidence. Often an entire team would take their bikes en masse to be inspected and subsequently impounded. For example, if the entire Swedish team impounded at the same time, there would be Monarks and Huskies with sequential inspection numbers, but their numbers for the event would be scattered throughout the various classes.
I could be wrong on this, but that's the story I've heard from a couple of sources. Prez Paul was there and I'm sure he can give us "just the facts, ma'am!"
It will be interesting to discover your bike's history. As Dwight pointed out, the Pentons ridden at the Dalton ISDT all sported Jackpiner blue tanks, regardless of displacement.

The exception to the BLUE tank rule for 1973 was Jack Pentons Gold Yellow 250 Hare Scrambler.
